Airbrush Events Team Trip: Behind the Scenes of Our California Adventure

Behind the scenes of Airbrush Events' company trip to California.

The Airbrush Events team trip to Anaheim wasn’t just a business trip—it was a bonding experience, a first-time adventure for many, and a major corporate activation that brought together 10 of our artists from across the country.

While we can’t show you footage from the event itself (hello, NDA), we can still take you behind the scenes. Because when the paint dries and the hats are hung, it’s the moments in between that tell the real story.

About the Event

This trip was all about showing up big for Boost Mobile. With 875 guests and a venue at the Hilton Anaheim, this was one of our larger corporate events and one that required the full power of Team AE. Guests received live, personalized airbrush swag throughout the event, and while we can’t show you the magic in action, trust us this was one to remember.

The Airbrush Events Team Trip Crew

Our lineup of artists for Anaheim included:

  • Pete M. – Founder and team leader, steady as ever.
  • Angel – Focused, fast, and always on point.
  • Takeshi – A 33-year airbrush veteran with a soft spot for strawberry lemonade.
  • Pete L. – West Coast vibes and solid lines.
  • Guillermo – Calm under pressure, always consistent.
  • Regis – A key player in keeping energy high at every booth.
  • Martin – Brings both paint and personality.
  • Casey – One of our newest artists and one of the few women on the team—quick with a smile and clean with her work.
  • Taff – A crowd-favorite artist with strong attention to detail.

And rounding out the team was our newest addition, Tim, experiencing a lot of firsts.

Tim’s Firsts

This wasn’t just Tim’s first Airbrush Events gig—it was his first time flying, first time in California, and first time working an event of this size.

“Everyone was extremely kind and nice. I’ve never had a first day like that. I felt truly blessed. The event went well, and I even got to stay a couple extra days. I couldn’t have asked for more.”

He soaked up the palm trees, enjoyed some beach time, and got fully initiated into the AE crew. Safe to say—we’re glad he’s here.

Laguna Beach Vibes

Before the event kicked off, Pete L., Guillermo, Taff, and Tim took a ride out to Laguna Beach. It was Tim’s first time seeing the Pacific, and Pete L. jumped right in.

“It was awesome—an amazing beach. The water was crystal clear, maybe 70 degrees.” – Pete L.

Tim caught it on video, and the backdrop of the ocean didn’t disappoint.

Pizza and IHOP

On night one, the team set out in search of a Cheesecake Factory—only to find it closed. That turned into a mile-long walk, dodging traffic Frogger-style, and ending at the only pizza spot still open.

“That pizza joint was actually the bomb.” – Martin

The next morning, the entire crew hit IHOP for breakfast. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was classic—and a chance for everyone to fuel up and regroup before the event kicked into high gear.

“I can’t remember what I ate, but I remember getting a strawberry lemonade. They said it was good—and they were right.” – Takeshi

Disney Springs and Souvenirs

Although no one made it into Disneyland proper, Takeshi managed to stop at Disney Springs, picking up a 70th anniversary Disneyland shirt for his daughter. A small, sweet keepsake from a big week.

Post-Event Moments

After the event wrapped, the team returned to the hotel—only to find the Boost Mobile guests wearing the airbrushed hats they’d just painted.

“Seeing people all around the hotel in our hats? That was pretty awesome.” – Martin

Why These Trips Matter

blank

Yes, it’s about the work—but it’s also about building something bigger. Trips like this allow the team to bond, mentor new artists, and create shared experiences that carry into every event we do.

“I’m proud of how our team welcomed Tim and helped him get settled. They always show up, deliver top-tier work, and take care of each other along the way.” – Pete M.

California Firsts

  • First flight, first California trip, and first event for Tim
  • First time in the Pacific for Pete L.
  • First IHOP run as a full team
  • First AE souvenir shirt from Disney Springs
  • First team adventure to a mysteriously closed Cheesecake Factory
  • First time seeing hundreds of guests wearing our gear at the hotel bar

Final Thoughts

The Airbrush Events team trip to Anaheim had all the elements of a successful activation—hard work, new beginnings, and plenty of laughs in between. Even when the event itself stays under wraps, the behind-the-scenes moments remind us why we love what we do.
