<h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. <strong>Miniac</strong></h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="585" src="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Miniac-1024x585.png" alt="" class="wp-image-14691" srcset="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Miniac-1024x585.png 1024w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Miniac-300x172.png 300w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Miniac-768x439.png 768w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Miniac.png 1193w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Miniature figure painting is one of the most precise applications of airbrushing out there. Miniac&#8217;s channel breaks it down with a mix of tutorials, honest reviews, and enough personality to keep you watching way longer than you planned.</p>

<p>Check out his &#8216;<a href="https://youtu.be/2a9xuDa7gfs?si=8xpjE6wPOe2xAiw3" type="link" id="https://youtu.be/2a9xuDa7gfs?si=8xpjE6wPOe2xAiw3" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Know Nothing About Airbrushes? Start here</a>&#8216; video. </p>

<p></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. Jeff Copeland</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://youtu.be/vNq1ihLZNOo?si=Gz8ixoLiUF7XxJHP" target="_blank" rel=" noreferrer noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="564" src="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-214617-1024x564.png" alt="" class="wp-image-14692" srcset="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-214617-1024x564.png 1024w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-214617-300x165.png 300w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-214617-768x423.png 768w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-214617.png 1221w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>

<p>While his channel doesn’t have the normal ‘talking’ video tutorials, he does show you the whole process of airbrushing t-shirts. He has some very creative graffiti designs you can try following along with.</p>

<p>This video teaches you how to trace a design before airbrushing <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNq1ihLZNOo">Airbrush name design – cool tracing technique</a>.</p>

<p></p>

<p></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. The Art Workshop</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcYWcP4ygyE" target="_blank" rel=" noreferrer noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="573" src="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-222004-1024x573.png" alt="" class="wp-image-14693" srcset="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-222004-1024x573.png 1024w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-222004-300x168.png 300w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-222004-768x430.png 768w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Screenshot-2026-03-06-222004.png 1210w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>

<p>A well-rounded channel for anyone starting out. Weekly tutorials covering painting, drawing, and airbrushing — kept short and to the point so you&#8217;re learning, not just watching. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iywtDu7_LNA" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Watch their tutorial on finger control</a>. </p>

<p></p>

<p></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading style-scope ytd-channel-name">6. Zumikito Miniatures</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://youtu.be/x5BUE1WHHVY?si=_sOIbJNqXW1-fR7x" target="_blank" rel=" noreferrer noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="550" src="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Zumikito-1024x550.png" alt="" class="wp-image-14694" srcset="https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Zumikito-1024x550.png 1024w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Zumikito-300x161.png 300w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Zumikito-768x413.png 768w, https://www.airbrushevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Zumikito.png 1223w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>

<p>New to airbrushing minis? This is your starting point. Zumikito breaks down the basics of using an airbrush on miniature models from priming techniques to building a clean basecoat in a way that doesn&#8217;t overwhelm a beginner. Watch this <a href="https://youtu.be/x5BUE1WHHVY?si=_sOIbJNqXW1-fR7x" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">one to get started with him</a>. </p>

<p></p>

<p>This is just a starting point. YouTube will keep serving up new channels as you watch, and before long you&#8217;ll have a growing list of favorites. </p>

<p>If you want to skip the learning curve and see professional airbrushing up close, start with the free videos at AirbrushEvents Academy — no sign-up, no catch. </p>

<p>And if you&#8217;re curious about the artists who turned this craft into a career, <a href="https://www.airbrushevents.com/blog/famous-airbrush-artists/" type="link" id="https://www.airbrushevents.com/blog/famous-airbrush-artists/">check out our roundup of the most famous airbrush artists</a> of all time.<a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/sureshotairbrush" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><br></a></p>

<p>Airbrush Events is dedicated to transforming passionate individuals into skilled airbrush artists through virtual airbrush training, even if they have no prior art experience. As President of Airbrush Events, I&#8217;ve had the privilege of training several artists from the ground up. Recently, I successfully trained Martin Ingram, our Equipment &amp; Inventory Manager, entirely remotely. Here’s how we did it.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><em>Embracing Technology for Virtual Airbrush Training</em></h2>

<p>The advent of technology has revolutionized our training process. By using an app that supports video chat and recording, we bypass the need for synchronized schedules. This allows personalized instruction without requiring the teacher and student to be available simultaneously. This flexibility was a game-changer for us.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Remote Training Process</h2>

<p>To train Martin, I used a simple yet effective setup. I mounted my phone on a tripod to film myself airbrushing and explaining each step. Martin watched these videos at his convenience, practiced the techniques, and sent his attempts back for my critique. This iterative process, repeated dozens of times, ensured continuous improvement.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Importance of Practice Can’t Be Overstated</h2>

<p>Teaching airbrushing involves brief instructional videos followed by extensive practice. Success heavily depends on the student’s dedication. Like the “wax on, wax off” technique in Karate Kid, mastering airbrushing requires repetitive practice to build muscle memory and dexterity.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Essential Equipment for Beginners</h2>

<p>Starting with the right equipment is crucial. I recommend:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>One quality airbrush:</strong> Investing in a good airbrush is essential for your progress. I recommend the <a href="https://amzn.to/3SosnbA">Iwata HP-BCS</a>, which is a versatile and reliable airbrush. Our team uses them exclusively because they perform exceptionally well and do not hinder your skills. Cheaper airbrushes can hold you back, making you think your abilities are lacking when, in fact, the tool is inadequate.<br></li>

<li><strong>Airbrush hose and compressor:</strong> A basic, affordable compressor works fine. Look for one that’s not too loud. Silent compressors are typically unnecessary for beginners and can be costly. We love this one by <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Senco-PC1010N-Finish-Portable-Compressor/dp/B01MG660X2?&amp;linkCode=sl1&amp;tag=airbrusheve0a-20&amp;linkId=73c9211a75d29dd7e3a614cf790d99b2&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl">Senco</a>. Whatever you get, it should be able to provide at least 60 psi of air pressure continuously.<br></li>

<li><strong>Easel and good lighting:</strong> Ensure a well-lit and ventilated workspace.<br></li>

<li><strong>Practice materials:</strong> Use paper towels or rolls of <a href="https://amzn.to/3Yy0ja8">Kraft paper</a> and one bottle of black paint for initial practice. Black paint flows the best, making it ideal for beginners.</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Documenting Progress</h2>

<p>Martin documented his practice hours, totaling about 80 before he was event-ready. Painting smaller items, like hats, required additional practice due to their complexity. Hats, with their small size and curved surface, present unique challenges that demand extra attention and time.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Structured Learning Path</h2>

<p>Our lessons begin with fundamental drills: lines, shading, and dagger strokes. We quickly move to script lettering, the most challenging yet essential skill. Mastering these basics makes learning to compose pictures and use color easier.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Real-World Application and Ongoing Practice</h2>

<p>Martin continues to refine his skills, mostly through hands-on experience at events. Our latest trainee, Natalie (aka Sugar), has shown remarkable progress in just two months. She had some experience with airbrushing tattoos using stencils but needed to develop freehand lettering skills. She is now almost ready for events, with some already scheduled for her in October.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Join Us</h3>

<p>Remote training has opened doors for many aspiring artists, making learning accessible and cost-effective. If you have the drive and determination to learn to airbrush and join Airbrush Events, reach out to us. We’re excited to help you turn your passion into a profession.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p>For those looking to transform their creative ambitions into a practical skill, our virtual training program provides the perfect opportunity. We look forward to welcoming new artists into our team and helping them achieve their potential.<br><br>The short video below shows a mashup of some of the videos that Martin and I exchanged during his training.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
